A green and yellow basket overflows with pomegranates giving this colorful still life from Mary Mark its title of "Pomegranate Season". The basket shares space on a small, low table with a yellow vase of white flowers that weigh down their long, pale stems. To the left of the table on the black-and white checked floor sits a chair upholstered with peaches and plums on a backdrop of olive green. On the other side of a green, yellow and white curtained window revealing a clear blue sky sits another chair to the right of the table. This one is red with white leaves forming rows along its stuffed arms and back. And, in a surprising contrast of styles, sitting on its seat are a yellow pillow trimmed with red and striped with cherries in strips of white, and another pillow patterned with leopard spots!
