Elements are pinned to a rough paper surface like a page from a scrapbook in David Martin's "Virgin Islands". The page is dark, speckled purple, and mounted with silver pins at its corners, sits at the page's low center another speckled sheet, this one smaller and ivory. In its center, also slightly low is yet another, this one mounted with silver square corner brackets, and varied shades of gray with the impression of elegant script left on its surface. All of this sets the scene for a single purple stamp, already bearing the wavy lines from the postmark, from the Virgin Islands, no doubt. Remembrances of a love affair, a vacation with family, of revealing and cleansing solitude, perhaps, they are the keys to memories, and will bring a note of nostalgia and romance to any room that makes them its own.
