Douglas Edwards was born in Toronto, Canada and studied at the Ontario College of Art, also spending his final year of study in Florence, Italy.
Painter Edwards was one of the few Canadian artists invited to participate in the Biennale Internazionale Dell’Art Contemporanea in 2003 and returned to Florence for that show .
