"The Waterfront" is missing the water in this black and white photography by an anonymous artist. The city stands as a backdrop to this 1940's scene judging by the vintage cars and the clothing of the pedestrians walking next to the shoreline. The buildings soar towards the cloudy sky or perhaps it's gray because of the smokestack belching black soot into the air.
