"Gala and the Tigers" by Salvador Dali is also known as "Sting caused by the Flight of a Bee." Dali married Gala, real name Elena Ivanovna Diakonova, after living with her for twenty-six years, and she frequently modeled for him. "Gala and the Tigers" is a wonderful example of Dali's surrealist leanings: tigers fly through the sky, claws unsheathed; an elephant on impossibly long and willowy limbs stalks the landscape and, on a small outcropping of rock, Gala sleeps on unperturbed. Dali's art always causes a stir; cause a stir at home by putting this print into your basket now.
